Iron Rangers D-man Brennan commits to NCAA program

HOYT LAKES, Minn. – The Minnesota Iron Rangers of the Superior International Junior Hockey League has announced that defencemen David Brennan has committed to attend school at Framingham State University and play for the Rams, who compete out of the NCAA D-III Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference.

The 19-year-old native of South Setauket, N.Y. is a stay-at-home type blueliner who stands six-foot-four-inches and comes in at 220 pounds.

He saw 20 games of SIJHL action this season scoring twice and adding a pair of assists before injury cut short his 2016-17 campaign.

“We are proud of David getting his college commitment,” stated Minnesota head coach and general manager Jesse Davis.

“He has great size and a plays a very intense defensive game. He’s hard to play against, very physical and plays with a passion. We only hope the best for him as he moves on to play college hockey,” added Davis.

For his part, Brennan is looking forward to the NCAA opportunity.

“I am very excited to attend Framingham State University,” said Brennan.

“It’s the perfect fit for me on and off the ice. I perform better in small settings in small groups in any aspect of life I feel so the small school and class size is something I like. I am very excited to be given the challenge of doing the honors program there. Hockey wise I’m the type of defenceman Coach Guy Angers looks for; just a simple defensive defenceman so it’s a good fit there for me.”
