SIJHL announces suspensions
THUNDER BAY, Ont. – Superior International Junior Hockey League Commissioner Bryan Graham announced the following suspensions resulting from three separate incidents during SIJHL Game No. 55, Dryden GM Ice Dogs @ Thief River Falls Norskies, played on Sunday, Nov. 20:
GARRETT GRAHAM, DRYDEN GM ICE DOGS – TWO (2) GAMES
Graham is automatically suspended for his actions under rule 6.4 (a) after incurring a major penalty for checking from behind and subsequent a game misconduct in the contest against the Norskies.
The player’s suspension is for the following games:
Game No. 58 – Friday, Nov. 25 vs. Fort Frances
Game No. 64 – Friday, Dec. 2 @ Fort Frances
JAKE GUSHUE, DRYDEN GM ICE DOGS – ONE (1) GAME
Gushue is suspended under supplementary discipline for grabbing an opponent’s facial protector under rule 6.1 (d) during the match-up with Thief River Falls.
The player’s suspension is for the following game:
SIJHL Game No. 58: Friday, Nov. 25 vs. Fort Frances
DEREK MCPHAIL, DRYDEN GM ICE DOGS – TWO (2) GAMES
McPhail is suspended under supplementary discipline, following video review, for an illegal check to the head of an opponent during the game against the Norskies.
The player’s suspension is for the following games:
Game No. 58 – Friday, Nov. 25 vs. Fort Frances
Game No. 64 – Friday, Dec. 2 @ Fort Frances
