Miners’ Dartnall makes collegiate commitment

EAR FALLS — The English River Miners of the Superior International Junior Hockey League have announced that forward Richard Dartnall has committed to playing collegiate hockey in the fall.

The 20-year-old Cochrane, Alta., native will attend Keyano College in Fort McMurray, Alta., and play for the Huskies who complete out of the highly-touted Alberta Collegiate Athletic Conference.

In two seasons as a member of the Miners, Dartnall was a fan favourite skating in 95 total games.

Last season saw him score 10 times and add 18 assists for 28 points while adding a pair of assists in three playoff contests.

Meanwhile in 2013-14 Dartnall picked up 15 points on three tallies and 12 helpers and went on to add eight more points in the postseason helping English River advance to the SIJHL semifinals.

The Miners organization would like to wish Richard the best in school and in his future.
