Lakers’ Spicer named SIJHL player of the week

THUNDER BAY, Ont. –  The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Wednesday that Fort Frances Lakers forward Colton Spicer has been named the initial player of the week recipient for the 2014-15 season.

Sunday afternoon he then doled out two more helpers in the Lakers 4-3 triumph in Hoyt Lakes vs. the Minnesota Iron Rangers.

Spicer and the rest of his Fort Frances teammates return to game action this evening as the 2-0 Lakers travel to take on the also 2-0 Dryden GM Ice Dogs in a 7:30 p.m. start at Memorial Arena.

Also receiving consideration for the SIJHL player of the week were: Matt Houston, (F) Dryden GM Ice Dogs, Brandon Wolframe, (F) Thunder Bay North Stars, A.J. Rupert, (F) Minnesota Iron Rangers and Ian Bablitz, (D) English River Miners.
