Lakers’ Ripley selected Amyotte’s Awards & Promotions player of the week
THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Monday that Fort Frances Lakers forward Christian Ripley has been selected as the Amyotte’s Awards & Promotions Corp. player of the week for the period ending March 13.
In three games last week the 20-year-old native of Duluth, Minn., amassed eight points helping the league-leading Lakers skate to a trio of victories.
Ripley began by scoring once and setting up another as Fort Frances edged Minnesota 4-3 on the road this past Tuesday.
Friday night he dished out a pair of helpers as the Lakers won 3-2 at Thunder Bay.
He then capped off his week with a career-high four goals to help his side earn a 5-4 overtime triumph over rival Dryden Saturday.
With points in 11 of his past 15 games, including four in succession, Ripley currently sits ninth in SIJHL offensive production with 22 tallies and 23 assists for 45 points.
His goal total also ties him for the fourth most in the league.
