Iron Rangers’ Erickson named Amyotte’s Awards & Promotions player of the week
THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Monday that Evan Erickson of the Minnesota Iron Rangers has been named the Amyotte’s Awards & Promotions Corp. player of the week for the period ending March 1.
In three games during the time frame the 20-year-old forward from Woodbury, Minn., amassed multiple point nights in each of them totalling two tallies while also doling out eight assists.
Erickson began by picking up three helpers in a 5-4 setback at Fort Frances Thursday.
The following night he tallied once and set-up another in Minnesota’s 10-2 romp over English River.
Saturday evening he had another marker and dished out four assists as the Iron Rangers dropped the Miners 6-2.
Currently riding an eight-game point streak, Erickson presently sits second in SIJHL scoring with 67 points with 19 goals and a league-high 48 assists.
Also receiving consideration for the SIJHL Amyotte’s player of the week was: Dylan Cusmano, (F) Dryden GM Ice Dogs; Bryson Jasper, (F) Fort Frances Lakers; Tim Cavar, (D) Thunder Bay North Stars and Liam Watson, (F) English River Miners.
