Fort Frances goaltender Park named Gongshow Gear performer of the month
THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Superior International Junior Hockey League Monday that Fort Frances Lakers goaltender Nathan Park has been named the Gongshow Gear performer of the month award recipient for February.
In eight starts last month the recently turned 20-year-old posted a 7-1-0-0 record while registering a 2.33 goals-against average along with a .920 save percentage.
Since joining the Lakers in mid-December, Park has been stellar, posting a solid 12-2-0-0 record and currently tops all SIJHL netminders in both average at 1.92 as well as sporting a league-best save mark of .931.
The Edmonton, Alta., native also shares the SIJHL lead in shutouts with two with his overall efforts aiding in the Lakers capturing their second consecutive league regular season title.
For his work Park will receive a prize pack courtesy of Gongshow Gear, the official lifestyle hockey apparel of the SIJHL.
Also earning consideration for the SIJHL’s Gongshow Gear performer of the month award was Evan Erickson, (F) Minnesota Iron Rangers; Tate Sproxton, (G) Dryden GM Ice Dogs; Tim Cavar, (D) Thunder Bay North Stars and Greg Harney, (G) English River Miners.
