THUNDER BAY – The red-hot Fort Frances Lakers continue to garner attention at the national level.

Winners of 15 consecutive games, Fort Frances moved up another notch in the latest Canadian Junior Hockey League top 20 rankings announced Tuesday after they were placed third overall in the listings compiled in conjunction with NHL Central Scouting.

The Lakers currently hold down first place in the Superior International Junior Hockey League standings with an impressive 16-1-0-1 record.

Meanwhile the Thunder Bay North Stars also maintained a position in the CJHL top 20 as they were ranked 15th nationally.

The North Stars hold down second spot in the SIJHL with an 11-2-0-3 record.

There was no change among the top two clubs in the CJHL this week with the AJHL’s Fort McMurray Oil Barons still sitting at No. 1 while the Steinbach Pistons of the MJHL are at No. 2.
