Fort Frances 5th in final CJHL rankings for 2015-16

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Canadian Junior Hockey League announced their final Pointstreak Top 20 rankings for the 2015-16 season Monday and the leaders in the Superior International Junior Hockey League finished well up in the listings.

The final edition of the rankings, which were compiled in conjunction with International Scouting Services, saw the SIJHL-leading Fort Frances Lakers finish fifth in the tabulations.

Fort Frances, who captured their third consecutive SIJHL regular season crown over the weekend, boasts the top record in the SIJHL at 40-8-0-2 and have guaranteed themselves the No. 1 seed and home ice advantage for the upcoming league Bill Salonen Cup playoffs.

Having won 20 straight contests, the defending RBC Cup national champion Portage Terriers (MJHL) were slotted No. 1 in the final CJHL rankings while the Penticton Vees (BCHL) were No. 2.

The Soo Thunderbirds (NOJHL) and Trenton Golden Hawks (OJHL) rounded out the top five at No. 3 and No. 4 respectively.
