Daman, Bowey lead Norskies over Iron Rangers

THIEF RIVER FALLS, Minn. – Alec Daman and Connor Bowey both collected hat tricks and added two assists apiece as the Thief River Falls Norskies thumped the Minnesota Iron Rangers 11-1 in The Superior International Junior Hockey League play Wednesday at Ralph Engelstad Arena.

It was all Thief River Falls from the onset as they skated out to a 4-0 lead after one period on markers from Daman, Bowey, Brett Piper and Boe Bjorge.

After Daman made it 5-0 early in the middle stanza, Joshua Baker put the Iron Rangers on the board at 1:42 as he collected his 10th tally of the campaign.

The Norskies added two more before the frame was complete though as Mason McIntosh struck shorthanded before Tyler Montoya notched his first SIJHL goal at 15:54 to put the home side up by six.

They then finished off the romp in the third as Daman finished off his hat trick 16 seconds in before Bowey tacked on two more to get his.

They then combined to set-up Tyler Johnson to round out the one-sided victory.

Johnson, Blake Nelson and Zach Ross chipped in with three assists apiece for Thief River Falls.

Fletcher Bolda picked up the win in net for the Norskies while Nick Corneliusen suffered the loss.
