Carignan shuts out Dryden

HOYT LAKES, Minn. – Minnesota Iron Rangers goaltender Kyle Carignan stopped all 25 shots he faced to register his first Superior International Junior Hockey League shutout to backstop his side to a 5-0 triumph over the visiting Dryden GM Ice Dogs Saturday at Hoyt Lakes Arena.

Seth Chumley slammed home the only marker his side would need as he notched a power play marker 13 minutes into the contest.

Minnesota ran their lead to 2-0 after 40 minutes thanks to a Sam Mancini effort early in the middle stanza.

The Iron Rangers then put the game away in the third tacking on three more tallies off the sticks of Chumley, A.J. Rupert and Alex Arnold to round out the scoring.

Josh Martin had 40 shots against in a losing cause for Dryden as they were blanked for the first time this season.
