Dryden defeats Thunder Bay 3-1

DRYDEN, Ont. – The Dryden GM Ice Dogs grabbed an early lead and never trailed as they went on to defeat the Thunder Bay North Stars 3-1 Friday night in a Superior International Junior Hockey League match-up at Memorial Arena.

Tanner Watt and Blake Holowaty staked the GM Ice Dogs to a 2-0 lead before the contest was 10 minutes old before the North Stars got on back late in the opening stanza thanks to a Brendan Gillis man advantage marker.

It stayed that way until the final minute of regulation when Dryden got an insurance goal from Braeden Allkins with 53 seconds to go to wrap things up offensively.

The GM Ice Dogs outshot the North Stars 37-19 on the night with Taylor Unruh picking up the win and Riley Corbin the loss.
