SIJHL’s Norskies announce 1st NCAA commitment

THIEF RIVER FALLS, Minn. – The Thief River Falls Norskies of the Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Friday its first NCAA commitment in franchise history.

Norskies forward Reily McIntosh has committed to attend State University of New York – Canton where he will attend school and skate for the Kangaroos men’s hockey program.

The 20-year-old forward, who hails from North Pole, Alaska, is averaging over a point-per-game for Thief River Falls this season with 32 in 30 contests on six goals and 26 assists.

McIntosh also boasts nine multi-point games for the Norskies since he joined the first-year SIJHL club back in mid-November.

“We couldn’t be more excited on Reily’s NCAA commitment, which is also our initial one as a franchise,” stated Thief River Falls’ general manager Kevin McCallum.

The Norskies, who lead the SIJHL in attendance, are expecting another big crowd tonight as they host the Fort Frances Lakers in a 7:30 p.m. start at Ralph Engelstad Arena.
