SIJHL announces suspensions

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – Superior International Junior Hockey League Commissioner Bryan Graham has announced the following suspensions.

JAKE GUSHUE, ENGLISH RIVER MINERS – ONE (1) GAME

Gushue is suspended one (1) game for his actions in SIJHL Game No. 50, English River Miners @ Thunder Bay North Stars, played on Monday, Jan. 4, 2016.

He receives a one-game suspension under rule 4.6 (c) for incurring a major penalty and subsequent game misconduct for cross checking in the final 10 minutes of the third period in Monday’s game vs. Thunder Bay.

Gushue’s suspension will be served during the following game:

Game No. 81 – Friday, Jan. 8 vs. Dryden

KYLE CRAWFORD, ENGLISH RIVER MINERS – TWO (2) GAMES

Crawford is suspended two (2) games for his actions in SIJHL Game No. 50, English River Miners @ Thunder Bay North Stars, played on Monday, Jan. 4, 2016.

He receives the one-game suspension under rule 4.6 (c) for incurring a major penalty and subsequent game misconduct for fighting in the final 10 minutes of the third period in Monday’s game vs. Thunder Bay.

He is also suspended one additional game under CJHL Supplementary Discipline for receiving an instigating penalty in the final 10 minutes of Monday’s game vs. Thunder Bay.

Crawford’s suspension will be served during the following games:

Game No. 81 – Friday, Jan. 8 vs. Dryden
Game No. 83 – Saturday, Jan. 9 vs. Minnesota
