SIJHL announces suspension

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – Superior International Hockey League Commissioner Bryan Graham announced Tuesday the following player suspension for his actions in SIJHL Game No. 71, Minnesota Iron Rangers @ Dryden GM Ice Dogs, at Memorial Arena on Saturday, Dec. 13:

BEN SMAHA, (D) DRYDEN GM ICE DOGS – THREE (3) GAMES

At the 9:27 mark of the third period Smaha was assessed a major penalty and automatic game misconduct for kneeing as per rule 6.6 (b).

Smaha is suspended three games under Supplementary Discipline.

This suspension will be served during the following games:

Game No. 73 – Tuesday, Dec. 16, vs. English River (@ Red Lake)
Game No. 77 – Friday, Dec. 19 vs. English River
Game No. 79 – Friday, Jan. 2 @ Minnesota
