SIJHL announces suspension

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – Superior International Junior Hockey League Commissioner Bryan Graham has announced the following suspension.

KENT WALCHUK, DRYDEN GM ICE DOGS – THREE (3) GAMES

Walchuk is suspended three (3) games for his actions in SIJHL Game No. 100, Dryden GM Ice Dogs vs. Minnesota Iron Rangers, played on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016.

He is suspended two games for incurring a major penalty and subsequent game misconduct for head contact under Rule 6.5 (c) (Rule 1.1 of the CJHL Supplement) and suspended one additional game as the game misconduct occurred in the final 10 minutes of regulation time under rule 4.6 (c).

Walchuk’s suspension will be served during the following games:

Game No. 101 – Wednesday, Feb. 3 @ English River
Game No. 104 – Friday, Feb. 5, @ Thunder Bay
Game No. 105 – Saturday, Feb. 6, @ Thunder Bay
