Lindstrom scores 2 in 3rd as Minnesota drops Dryden 5-3

HOYT LAKES, Minn. – The Minnesota Iron Rangers got two third period tallies from Tyler Lindstrom to help them defeat the Dryden GM Ice Dogs 5-3 Saturday in a Superior International Junior Hockey League contest at Hoyt Lakes Arena.

The first 20 minutes was all Minnesota as they skated out to a 3-0 lead on a pair of markers from Tristyn Sabina and a single courtesy of Noah Bennett.

While the opening stanza went in favour of Iron Rangers, the second session was all Dryden as they rallied to knot the affair at 3-3 on efforts supplied by Braedyn Aubin, Troy Williams and Nathan Avery.

It remained tied until 8:40 to go in regulation when Lindstrom notched the game-winner.

He then added an insurance maker two minutes later as he collected his 11th goal of the season to round out the scoring.

Jake Ellingson dished out a pair of assists to aid the Iron Rangers cause.

Kyle Carignan made 31 saves to record the win for Minnesota and he also picked up an assist on Bennett’s first period tally.

Troy Pierce saw 30 shots fired his way in defeat for Dryden.
