Lakers move to 10th in CJHL Pointstreak Top 20 rankings

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – As one of the hottest club in the Canadian Junior Hockey League, the Fort Frances Lakers continue to move up the national Pointstreak Top 20 rankings.

Currently riding a 12-game winning streak, the Lakers were slotted in at No. 10 in the 129-team CJHL this week in the listings, which are produced in conjunction with International Scouting Services.

Fort Frances remains in top spot in the Superior International Junior Hockey League standings with a solid 29-7-0-1 overall record heading into game action this week.

The Lakers last tasted defeat back in early December when they dropped a 4-3 decision to the English River Miners.

Since Nov. 1, the defending SIJHL  title holders and 2015 Dudley-Hewitt Cup Central Canada Jr. A Championship hosts have gone 19-2-0-0 under head coach and general manager Wayne Strachan.

Rolling right along as the No. 1 team in the CJHL is the red-hot Portage Terriers of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League as their 45-2-2 record and .939 winning percentage would indicate.

A pair of Alberta Junior Hockey League squads round out the top three this week with the Spruce Grove Saints and Camrose Kodiaks sitting second and third respectively.

The following is the Pointstreak CJHL top 20 rankings along with five honourable mention teams for the period ending Jan. 25:
