Lakers 11th, GM Ice Dogs honourable mention in Pointstreak CJHL rankings

THUNDER BAY, Ont.  – The Canadian Junior Hockey League announced Monday that both the Superior International Junior Hockey League’s Fort Frances Lakers and Dryden GM Ice Dogs have earned recognition in the latest Pointstreak CJHL top 20 weekly rankings for the period ending Oct. 5.

Fort Frances, the defending SIJHL Bill Salonen Cup champion Lakers, was slotted 11th nationally while Dryden garnered honourable mention status in the weekly listings, which are compiled in conjunction with International Scouting Services.

The Lakers currently top the SIJHL standings with 12 points after seven games with a 6-1 record.

The GM Ice Dogs meanwhile are second in the league with 10 points having gone 4-1-0-2 so far in the 2014-15 campaign.

The 2015 RBC Cup host Portage Terriers (MJHL) are the No. 1 club in the CJHL this week followed by the Notre Dame Hounds (SJHL) at No. 2.

The Carleton Place Canadians (CCHL), Camrose Kodiaks (AJHL) and the Cobourg Cougars (OJHL) round out the top five, rated third, fourth and fifth respectively.
