Iron Rangers’ Millis named Amyotte’s Awards & Promotions player of the week

THUNDER BAY, Ont. –  The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced today that Minnesota Iron Rangers forward Drew Millis has been named the Amyotte’s Awards & Promotions Corp. player of the week for the period ending Oct. 12.

In his club’s lone contest last week the 20-year-old Black River Falls, Wis., product set-up the tying goal and then went on to notch the game-winning marker in a 6-4 triumph over Thunder Bay.

Millis also had an earlier assist for a three-point night.

In Minnesota’s first two games of the season vs. the North Stars, he has notched the game-winner on both occasions while registering three tallies and as many helpers in the process for six of the eight points Millis has accumulated so far in the 2014-15 campaign.

Winners of four straight games the Iron Rangers look to extend their streak at home tonight as they host the Fort Frances Lakers in a 7 p.m. start at Hoyt Lakes Arena.

Also receiving consideration for the SIJHL player of the week were: Wyatt Cota, (F) Fort Frances Lakers, Matthias Gardiman, (F) Thunder Bay North Stars, Cole Golka, (F) Dryden GM Ice Dogs and Kirk Coppock, (F) English River Miners.
