Dryden’s Eric Stout named SIJHL – Play It Again Sports player of the week

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Monday that Dryden GM Ice Dogs forward Eric Stout has been named the initial Play It Again Sports player of the week of the 2016-17 season, beginning with the period ending Sept. 25.

In two games last week, the 18-year-old native of Brainerd, Minn., made an immediate impression in his SIJHL debut for the GM Ice Dogs, as he notched six goals helping Dryden skate to a pair of impressive victories over the weekend.

Stout stole the show for his new club Friday as he scored four times, including the game-winner, as Dryden defeated English River 7-3 at Memorial Arena.

Saturday night he added two more tallies in the GM Ice Dogs 8-1 home ice triumph over the expansion Thief River Falls Norksies.

Stout’s early offensive efforts has him leading the league in goals and also sharing the SIJHL lead in points with teammate Jacen Bracko with six each.
