CJHL rankings see Thunder Bay and Dryden claiming spots

THUNDER BAY, Ont. –  The Canadian Junior Hockey League announced its weekly Top 20 rankings Monday and a pair of Superior International Junior Hockey League clubs earned accolades.

Fresh off a weekend split at the Fort William Gardens where each team won once in overtime, the Thunder Bay North Stars and Dryden GM Ice Dogs both earned national recognition with Thunder Bay being tabbed 15th in the 132-team CJHL while Dryden was slotted 19th nationally.

The North Stars currently sit in first place in the SIJHL standings with 28 points having gone 13-4-2-0 to date.

The GM Ice Dogs meanwhile have 24 points to their credit along with an 11-3-2-0 record.

With three games in hand Dryden leads the SIJHL in winning percentage at .750 followed by Thunder Bay’s .737 mark.

College Francais de Longueuil remains the No. 1 team in the CJHL for another week while the Georgetown Raiders (OJHL) have moved up to No. 2.

Rounding out the top five are the Steinbach Pistons (MJHL), Wenatchee Wild (BCHL) and Terrebone Cobras (QJHL) in third through fifth respectively.
