SIJHL’s Lakers remain 7th in CJHL rankings

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The latest Canadian Junior Hockey League Pointstreak Top 20 rankings released Monday has the Fort Frances Lakers of the Superior International Junior Hockey League holding firm in the listings.

Winners of eight games in a row, the SIJHL front-runners were once again slotted in seventh spot overall in the 131-team CJHL in the weekly rankings, which are compiled in conjunction with International Scouting Services.

Heading into a Family Day matinee vs. the second place Dryden GM Ice Dogs at Ice for Kids Arena, Fort Frances continues to top the SIJHL standings with a 33-6-0-1 overall record.

That puts them 12 points clear of Dryden (25-11-3-2) in the quest for the league’s regular season crown.

There was no change among the top three clubs in the CJHL this week.

The Penticton Vees (BCHL) held on to the No. 1 ranking followed by the Soo Thunderbirds (NOJHL) in at No. 2 and the defending RBC Cup champion Portage Terriers (MJHL) maintaining their hold on No. 3 overall.
