Iron Rangers’ Lindstrom named Amyotte’s Awards & Promotions player of the week
THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Monday that Minnesota Iron Rangers defenceman Tyler Lindstrom has been named the Amyotte’s Awards & Promotions Corp. player of the week for the period ending Feb. 14.
In three road games last week the 19-year-old native of Brooklyn Park, Minn., registered five points helping the Iron Rangers secure four points in the SIJHL standings in their push towards the upcoming league playoffs.
Lindstrom began by notching his first SIJHL hat trick this past Wednesday leading Minnesota to a one-sided decision over Thunder Bay.
After being held off the score sheet in an away contest vs. English River Friday, the Iron Rangers blueliner countered by scoring once and setting up another in a victory vs. the Miners Saturday.
In 20 games since joining the club back on Dec. 1, Lindstrom has picked up eight tallies and added six helpers to move into a tie for second spot in offensive production among Minnesota D-men.
Also earning consideration for Amyotte’s player of the week honours was Andrew Willner, (F) Fort Frances Lakers; Nash Dabb, (F) English River Miners and Brad Thrower, (F) Thunder Bay North Stars.
Note: The Dryden GM Ice Dogs did not play last week, thus did not have a nominee.
