SIJHL announces postponement of Iron Rangers – North Stars games this weekend

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Thursday that they have postponed both of the games originally scheduled for Friday and Saturday eveningin Hoyt Lakes, Minn., between the Minnesota Iron Rangers and Thunder Bay North Stars.

The cause of the postponement is the Iron Rangers roster is decimated with injuries and illness as there are currently 11 regulars that would not be able to play.

As a U.S.-based team in the SIJHL, Minnesota is not allowed affiliate players as per Hockey Canada/Canadian Junior Hockey League guidelines and thus would not be able to ice a full line-up for each of the contests.

Make-up dates and times for each of the two postponed games will be announced once finalized.

The SIJHL and Iron Rangers apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

League play continues Friday evening as the Fort Frances Lakers host the English River Miners in a 7:30 p.m. start at Ice for Kids Arena.

All SIJHL contests are available online at FASTHockey.com.
