Reynolds leads Iron Rangers past Miners

EAR FALLS, Ont. – Jason Reynolds tallied three times and added an assist to help lead the Minnesota Iron Rangers to a 5-3 triumph over the English River Miners Friday evening in Superior International Junior Hockey League action at Ear Falls Arena.

Reynolds staked the visitors to a 2-0 lead after one period of play as his scored early and late in the stanza.

English River battled back to tie it in the middle session on markers by Landen Matechuk only to see Minnesota restore their two-goal cushion on markers 32 seconds apart by Gus Karkinen and Reynolds to make it 4-2 after 40 minutes.

Sitco’s second of the evening 2:28 into the final frame brought the Miners closer as they converted on the power play, but Reynolds set-up Matt O’Dea for some insurance midway through the session to round out the scoring.

Shots on goal favoured the Iron Rangers 55-31 with Kyle Carignan picking up the win and P.D. Melgoza the loss.
