Miners Defeat Lakers

After weather stopped the first game of scheduled 2 game series the Fort Frances Lakers made their way up the 105 to the Cochenour Arena to face the Red Lake Miners.  Jack Orchard would start in net for the Lakers while Ethan Neitsch started for the Miners.

After a scoreless first period the Lakers opened the scoring at 2:57 of the second on a power play tally from Magnus Pearson his 6th of the season.  Justin Gelderland’s 3rd of the season at 4:31 tied the game up at 1.  Blake Hiltermann’s 9th of the season made it 2-1 Miners at 9:07 before Remington Richardson scored his 5th at 10:49 to tie it back up.  Hiltermann added his 10th at 18:55 to give the Miners 3-2 lead heading into the second intermission.

Matthew Macpherson scored his 6th of the season at 6:38 to open the third period scoring.  Preston Tauter kept the Miners offence rolling with his 7th at 8:37 put the Miners up by 3.  Ryker Watt scored his 12th of the season on the power pay at 18:36 to finish off the nights scoring.

Final score Miners 6 Lakers 2.  Ethan Neitsch picked up his 9th win of the season.
