Harney shines as Miners open 2015 with win

EAR FALLS, Ont. – Ryker Moreau set-up the game-winner and added an insurance marker while Greg Harney was stellar making 41 saves to help the English River Miners open the 2015 portion of their Superior International Junior Hockey League schedule with a 3-1 victory over the Thunder Bay North Stars Saturday at Ear Falls Arena.

Eric Champagne opened the scoring for the Miners five minutes into the contest with the lone tally of the first period.

English River extended their led midway through the contest as Moreau helped feed Landen Matechuk for the eventual difference maker.

Thunder Bay cut into the deficit at 10:32 of the middle stanza courtesy of a Ryan McQueen effort only to see Moreau notch a pivotal tally with just one second remaining in the second session.
