Fort Frances remains 10th in CJHL rankings

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – It was status quo for the Superior International Junior Hockey League’s Fort Frances Lakers in the latest Canadian Junior Hockey League Pointstreak top 20 weekly rankings released Monday.

The SIJHL-leading Lakers were ranked 10th nationally for a second straight time in the CJHL listings, which are compiled in conjunction with International Scouting Services.

Boasting an 8-3-0-1 record after 12 games, Fort Frances currently sits atop the SIJHL standings with 17 points, three ahead of the second place Minnesota Iron Rangers, who also hold three games in hand.

The 2015 RBC Cup host Portage Terriers (MJHL), who are 14-0 to start the season, remain the No. 1 team in the CJHL.

Despite an overtime defeat last week to put a blemish on their record, the 8-0-1-0 Notre Dame Hounds (SJHL) stay at No. 2 overall.

Riding a seven-game unbeaten run the Penticton Vees (BCHL) moved up to No. 3 nationally in the ratings.

They currently boast the best record in the 16-team BCHL at 10-1-0-0.
