Luke DeCorby scored 3 times and Ethan Neitsch stopped 21 shots to pick up the shut out as the Miners blanked the Islanders 6-0 in an early week SIJHL matchup.
Jared Burnett got the Miners on the board first with his 6th of the season on the power play for a 1-0 lead. With a man in the box Luke DeCorby got sprung free and beat Connor Dunham-Fox for a short handed tally and a 2-0 lead. After 20 minutes of play the score was 2-0 Miners and they outshot they Islanders 19-7.
After a scoreless 2nd period Ryker Watt scored his 11th of the season at 7:39 of the third. DeCorby scored his 14th at 17:16 to make it 4-0 before the wheels fell off for the Islanders in their own end. Andrew Sikora’s 6th of the season at 18:03 was followed by DeCorby’s 3rd of the night at 19:28 to complete the nights scoring.
