Lakers slip to 7th in CJHL rankings; GM Ice Dogs earn honourable mention

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Canadian Junior Hockey League’s Pointstreak top 20 rankings for this week was announced Monday and both the Fort Frances Lakers and Dryden GM Ice Dogs of the Superior International Junior Hockey League earned accolades.

Fort Frances slipped two spots to seventh overall in the weekly listings, which are produced in conjunction with International Scouting Services, while Dryden garnered honourable mention status once again.

Despite having an eight-game winning streak snapped last week with a pair of losses vs. Thunder Bay, the Lakers are still 8-2 in their past 10 games and continue to lead the SIJHL standings with a 25-5-0-1 record.

Dryden also continues to play well as the second place GM Ice Dogs are 7-2-1 in their last 10 outings and have gone 21-7-2-2 overall.

Back for another week as the No. 1 side in the CJHL is the Trenton Golden Hawks of the OJHL while the Soo Thunderbirds (NOJHL) is right behind them at No. 2.

The Penticton Vees (BCHL) sits third followed by the Portage Terriers (MJHL) in fourth and the Brooks Bandits (AJHL) in fifth.
