Lakers 13th, GM Ice Dogs honourable mention in CJHL rankings

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Canadian Junior Hockey League announced their weekly rankings Monday and a pair of Superior International Junior Hockey League clubs garnered recognition.

The SIJHL-leading Fort Frances Lakers were slotted in at No. 13 in the CJHL week and the Dryden GM Ice Dogs earned honourable mention status in the listings produced in conjunction with International Scouting Services.

With 18 points, Fort Frances has gone 9-2-0-0 and presently lead the SIJHL standings, one point clear of second place Dryden, who are 8-2-1-0 overall through 11 outings.

As the lone remaining unbeaten side in the 131-team CJHL, the Powassan Voodoos (NOJHL) are a perfect 13-0-0-0 to begin the season as they hold down top spot in the national rankings for a third straight week.

Riding an impressive 15-game winning streak, the 15-1-0-0 Penticton Vees (BCHL) is the No. 2 ranked team in the CJHL while coming in at No. 3 overall are the Trenton Golden Hawks (OJHL), who are also 15-1-0-0 overall.
