SIJHL’s Ice Dogs 13th in opening CJHL Top 20 rankings of 2012-13

The Canadian Junior Hockey League, in conjunction with NHL Central Scouting, announced Monday their opening Top 20 rankings for the 2012-13 season.

Representing the Superior International Junior Hockey League are the Dryden Ice Dogs, who were tabbed 13th overall.

Dryden is coming off a three-win weekend to begin the SIJHL season including a 5-2 victory over the two-time Bill Salonen Cup champion Minnesota Wilderness on Sunday.

The defending Royal Bank Cup champion Penticton Vees of the BCHL were the top rated CJHL side in the initial rankings.

The rankings are based upon a variety of factors, which includes the league in which the teams belong to, this season’s results in regular season, last season’s playoffs, as well as initial recruiting efforts for the 2012-13 campaign.
