THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Saturday that Wisconsin Lumberjacks goaltender Hunter Adams has been named its Monkey Team Sports, by Northland, Performer of the Month for January.
In seven starts for the surging Lumberjacks, the 19-year-old netminder won six of them, including coming away victorious in each of his past five appearances.
Adams had a solid .931 save percentage and a respectable 2.68 goals-against average for Wisconsin during the time frame while facing just under 40 shots, per appearance, for the month.
In all, an 11-game January saw Wisconsin post a league-best record of 8-2-1.
Also earning consideration for the SIJHL’s Monkey Team Sports, by Northland, Performer of the Month for January was Cody Bruchkowski, (F) Thunder Bay North Stars; Zach Willms, (G) Red Lake Miners; Bryce Johnson, (F) Thief River Falls Norskies; Josh Weber, (F) Dryden GM Ice Dogs and Stone Stelzl, (F) Fort Frances Lakers.
