Walleye land D-man Resch

Thunder Bay, Ont. — The Kam River Fighting Walleye of the Superior International Junior Hockey League have secured the services of defenceman Caleb Resch the first-year club announced Friday.

A native of Winnipeg, Man., the 19-year-old rearguard spent the previous two seasons with the Raiders Junior Hockey Club of the Manitoba Major Junior Hockey League.

In the years there, Resch collected 52 points in 88 outings with that squad on nine goals and 43 assists.

Walleye head coach Matt Valley believes he is ready to take the next step in his hockey career.

“Caleb is a solid two-way defender with skills that will bolster our defensive core,” stated Valley.

“He’s a mobile and smart defenseman with good size.”
