Vanska Leads Walleye Over Miners

Trailing  the series 3-0 the Kam River Fighting Walleye were looking for something to get momentum going and keep the series going.  The biggest move made by Matt Valley was to start Eric Vanska in net while the Miners would stay with Kiev Kineshanko.

The Walleye were ready to play right from the opening face-off pushing hard against the Miners and had the early advantage in the game.  With early pressure and more shots on net the Walleye would finally get one past Kineshanko off the point shot from Kersey Reich at 18:02.  After 20 minutes of play the Walleye lead 1-0 and have an edge in shots 16-7.

The Miners would pick up the pace to start the second but any momentum they had gained was gone when Ethan Lang caught the Miners fumbling  the puck in their own end then stuffed it past Kineshanko for a 2-0 lead at7:45. Ryan Howe would cut the lead to 1 with an tough angle shot that evaded Vanska at 12:39.  After 40 minutes  of play Walleye lead 2-1 and have  a 22-20    lead in shots.

Miners came  out for the third period ready to get back in the game.  Buzzing around the Walleye  net the Miners were unable to beat Vanska.  Logan Gallaher would restore the 2 goal lead at 4:56 grabbing a loose puck and beating Kineshanko.  Ethan Pool would get the Miners within 1 at 10:28 putting a rebound past Vanska.  The Miners would push hard for the last half of the third period and outshot the Walleye 19-1 in the period but could not beat Vanska who had a great game.
