Stout scores in 4th straight game as GM Ice Dogs dump Iron Rangers

EVELETH, Minn. – Eric Stout of the Dryden GM Ice Dogs scored for a fourth straight game and went on to add three assists while teammate Trygve Many Guns tallied twice and helped set-up three more to help power their side to a 12-4 triumph over the Minnesota Iron Rangers Saturday evening in a Superior International Junior Hockey League neutral site affair at the Hippodrome in Eveleth, Minn.

Dryden came out quickly, netting the night’s opening tally 40 seconds in courtesy of Cameron Coutre.

They then went up by a pair midway through the first compliments of an Evan Pakkala effort.

Minnesota got one back before the frame was complete as Joshua Baker collected his 14th of the season with help from Kurt Reger and Garrett Wojicki.

The Iron Rangers tied it four and a half minutes into the second stanza thanks to Elias Thompson.

However, the GM Ice Dogs picked up markers from Dylan Winsor and Stout to make it 4-2 with half a game to play.

After Wojcicki brought Minnesota back to within one at 15:08, Dryden delivered four times in the final two minutes of the stanza to break it open.

Many Guns, via the power play, along with Brody Nielsen, Coutre and Jacob Siebenga all followed in rapid succession to put the GM Ice Dogs in control.

Curtis Magas and Rayman Bassi added to the lead in the third to go up by seven.

The Iron Rangers’ Cam Birkeland got one back at 14:41 before Dryden finished off the romp with late markers from Siebenga and Many Guns.

Jacob Anthony picked up the decision in goal for the winners.

Nick Corneliusen started for Minnesota and played two periods in suffering the loss while Synjen Amende came in to play the third for the Iron Rangers.
