SIJHL preseason play begins Saturday
THUNDER BAY, Ont. – Preseason action in the Superior International Junior Hockey League begins Saturday in Thunder Bay.
Originally slated for a 7:30 p.m. start at Port Arthur Arena, the exhibition contest between the Thunder Bay North Stars and Fort Frances Lakers will now get underway one hour later at 8:30 p.m.
Sunday night has the Dryden GM Ice Dogs hosting the English River Miners at Memorial Arena at 7:30 p.m.
Friday, Sept. 16 has the Lakers welcoming the North Stars to Ice for Kids Arena in Fort Frances while the expansion Thief River Falls Norskies take on the Winkler Flyers of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League at Huck Olson Memorial Civic Center in Thief River Falls, Minn. Both of those contests will get underway at 7:30 p.m.
League preseason play concludes Saturday, Sept. 17 as Dryden meets English River once again at Memorial Arena while the Norskies and Flyers finish off a home-and-home in Winkler, Man. with two more 7:30 p.m. starts.
Any further SIJHL exhibition games with dates, start times and locations will be announced by the league office once they are confirmed and finalized.
