SIJHL places two in CJHL Top 20

THUNDER BAY – The latest Canadian Junior Hockey League Top 20 rankings released Monday has the top two clubs in the Superior International Junior League both garnering recognition once again.

Earning the nod at No. 4 across the 128-team CJHL this week are the Fort Frances Lakers while the Thunder Bay North Stars came in at No. 15.

Fort Frances currently sits atop the SIJHL standings with an impressive 18-1-0-2 record and are riding a span where they have gone 17-0-0-1 in their past 18 outings amassing 35 out of a possible 36 points.

As for Thunder Bay, they too have been solid registering a 13-3-0-3 overall mark as their 29 points puts them in a tie for second spot in the SIJHL with the Minnesota Iron Rangers.

The North Stars do however hold four games in hand on the Iron Rangers and two on the Lakers.

The Alberta Jr. Hockey League boasts the top two in the CJHL rankings this week with the Fort McMurray Oil Barons holding steady at No. 1 and the Spruce Grove Saints coming in at No. 2.

Rounding out the top three are the Carleton Place Canadians of the Central Canada Hockey League in the Ottawa region.
