SIJHL announces suspensions
THUNDER BAY, Ont. – Superior International Junior Hockey League Commissioner Bryan Graham has announced the following suspensions:
BRADLEY THROWER, THUNDER BAY NORTH STARS – THREE (3) GAMES
Thrower is suspended three (3) games for his actions in SIJHL Game No. 63, Dryden Ice Dogs @ Thunder Bay North Stars, played on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015.
Thrower is suspended for three games under Supplementary Discipline for delivering a late, blind side hit to the head area of an unsuspecting Dryden player during the second period.
Thrower’s suspension will be served during the following games:
Game No. 66 – Friday, Dec. 11 vs. Minnesota
Game No. 70 – Wednesday, Dec. 16 vs. Fort Frances
Game No. 73 – Friday, December 18 @ Dryden
SAM CIRONE, ENGLISH RIVER MINERS – TWO (2) GAMES
Cirone is suspended two (2) games for his actions in SIJHL Game No. 64, Dryden Ice Dogs @ English River Miners, played on Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015.
During the third period of the game, Cirone was assessed an instigator and major penalty as well as a subsequent game misconduct for fighting under Rule 6.7(b) and received an automatic one-game suspension under Rule 6.1 of the CJHL Supplement for his second instigating penalty this season.
Cirone is also suspended one additional game for incurring a game misconduct in the last 10 minutes of a game under Hockey Canada Rule 4.6
Cirone’s suspension will be served during the following games:
Game No. 67 – Saturday, Dec. 12 @ Dryden
Game No. 69 – Sunday, Dec. 13 vs. Fort Frances
