SIJHL announces suspensions

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – Superior International Junior Hockey League Commissioner Bryan Graham has announced the following suspensions:

COLE ROONEY, DRYDEN GM ICE DOGS – THREE (3) GAMES

Rooney is suspended under supplementary discipline for his actions in SIJHL Game No. 33, Dryden Ice Dogs @ English River Miners, played on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2015.

Rooney’s suspension will be served during the following games:

Game No. 37 – Friday, Oct. 30 vs. Fort Frances
Game No. 38 – Saturday, Oct. 31 vs. English River
Game No. 41 – Friday, Nov. 6 @ Minnesota

JOSH OBERG, DRYDEN GM ICE DOGS – TWO (2) GAMES

Oberg is suspended two (2) games for his actions in SIJHL Game No. 33, Dryden Ice Dogs @ English River Miners, played on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2015.

During the second period of the game, Oberg was assessed a major penalty and subsequent game misconduct for head contact under Rule 6.5 (c) and was suspended under Rule 1.1 of the CJHL Supplement.

Oberg’s suspension will be served during the following games:

Game No. 37 – Friday, Oct. 30 vs. Fort Frances
Game No. 38 – Saturday, Oct. 31 vs. English River

JAKE GUSHUE, ENGLISH RIVER MINERS – ONE (1) GAME

Gushue is suspended under supplementary discipline for his actions in SIJHL Game No. 33, Dryden Ice Dogs @ English River Miners, played on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2015.

Gushue’s suspension will be served during the following game:

Game No. 36 – Friday, Oct. 30 @ Thunder Bay
