SIJHL Announces Return to Play

The Superior International Junior Hockey League today announces that it’s Board of Governors has unanimously approved a return-to-play plan that will see regular season games resume on Friday, February 4, 2022.

The regular season will not be extended as a result of the Province of Ontario’s 27-day pause on many activities and sports, including hockey.  It will conclude as originally planned with the final games being played on Saturday March 26th.

The playoff tournament for the Bill Salonen Cup is slated to begin on Tuesday March 29th.

Additionally, the SIJHL has postponed it’s 2021-22 Showcase, originally scheduled from February 8th through 10th, to March 1st through 3rd.  The Showcase will remain in Spooner, Wisconsin home of the Wisconsin Lumberjacks.

The complete SIJHL schedule for the remainder of the regular season will be released in the coming days.  The league’s re-opening weekend schedule is as follows:
