Pizza Hut returns as weekly award and player of the year sponsor
THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Tuesday that Pizza Hut is once again returning as the major sponsor of the SIJHL’s player of the week and player of the year awards.
This marks the fourth consecutive year that Pizza Hut has teamed up with the SIJHL to honour the league’s top weekly award honouree during the course of the regular season as well as recognizing its player of the year.
Each week during the course of the 2013-14 season a player or goaltender from one of the six teams that make-up the SIJHL will be announced as the Pizza Hut player of the week while the top performer in the league will earn the Pizza Hut player of the year award.
That winner will also go on to be the SIJHL’s nominee for the Canadian Junior Hockey League player of the year honour.
“We are very pleased to have Pizza Hut back on board for another season to mark the accomplishments of the skilled players in our league not only for their weekly performances, but also honouring our most valuable player in regular season play,” stated SIJHL President/Commissioner Ron Whitehead.
“On behalf of our member teams we thank the efforts of Pizza Hut in continuing to aid in recognizing the achievements of those in the SIJHL.” added Whitehead.
