THIEF RIVER FALLS, Minn. – The surging Thief River Falls Norskies skated to their fourth Superior International Junior Hockey League victory in a row Saturday and improved to 11-1-2 in their past 14 outings by defeating the Dryden GM Ice Dogs 4-1 at Ralph Engelstad Arena.
Alec Daman started the Norskies off with his 17th of the season at 11:42 of the first period as he ran a point streak to nine straight outings.
Teammate Boe Bjorge then added his 13th five minutes later to put the home side up by a pair while also extending a consecutive game point streak to 12 in the process.
Brett Piper then made it 3-0 Thief River Falls in the second stanza to extend their cushion.
Dryden got one back at 19:38 of the session thanks to Trey Palermo, but Bjorge came right back for the Norskies as he notched he second of the frame just before time had expired to restore the three-goal lead in what turned out to be the night’s final marker.

Bailey Schmitz made 21 stops to record the win helping his club improve to 13-7-3-1 on the season.
Newcomer Jacob Anthony faced 35 shots in defeat in his SIJHL debut as the GM Ice Dogs fell to 9-11-2-1 overall.
The same two teams will meet again Sunday at 5 p.m. back at “The Ralph.”
