Norskies earn 6-4 road win Sunday over GM Ice Dogs

DRYDEN, Ont. – The Thief River Falls Norskies picked up a pair of third period power play goals, including the game-winner, from Mason McIntosh to help them skate to a 6-4 triumph over the Dryden GM Ice Dogs in Superior International Junior Hockey League play Sunday evening at Memorial Arena.

Action in the first period saw each team tally twice with Jake Eischen and Connor Bowey connecting for the Norskies while Kevin Parra-Vaughan, with his first in the SIJHL, and Eric Stout countered for the GM Ice Dogs.

Trygve Many Guns gave Dryden the lead 17:29 into the middle stanza only to see Alec Daman answer for Thief River Falls a minute and a half later to knot the affair at 3-3.

Blake Nelson’s 10th put the visitors back in front early in the third before McIntosh managed his initial man advantage marker at 1:59.

Rayman Bassi brought the home side back to within one midway through the session, but McIntosh rounded out the scoring on the power play with 7:33 to go.

Brett Piper dished out three assists to aid the Norskies cause while Bowey had two helpers to join McIntosh as well with three-point nights in the victory.

Dryden outshot Thief River Falls 40-39 in the contest with Fletcher Bolda picking up the win while Carson Murison suffered the loss.
