Norskies blueliner Kalthoff collects SIJHL Play It Again Sports Player of the Week accolades

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Monday that Thief River Falls Norskies defenceman Connor Kalthoff has been named its Play It Again Sports Player of the Week for the period concluding Oct. 27.

In a pair of outings over the weekend, the 19-year-old blueliner from Sartell, Minn., scored in both of them and helped bolster his club’s back-end in two victories over the Wisconsin Lumberjacks.

After scoring once and dishing out an assist Friday, Kalthoff blasted home the game-winner late in regulation Saturday to help the Norskies complete the two-game sweep.

Since joining Thief River Falls earlier this month, he has played at a point-per-game pace with a trio of tallies while setting up five more in helping his club go 5-2-1 in that span.

Also earning consideration for player of the week honours were Josh Weber, (F) Dryden GM Ice Dogs; Reece Hopfner, (F) Fort Frances Lakers; Ryan Howe, (F) Red Lake Miners; Cody Bruchkowski, (F) Thunder Bay North Stars and Parker Brakebill, (F) Wisconsin Lumberjacks.
