Moreau to play at Simon Fraser University

RED LAKE, Ont. — The English River Miners are pleased to announce that Ryker Moreau will be playing hockey at the university level.

Moreau will be lacing up his skates for the Simon Fraser Clan this fall playing in the BCIHL.

Coming to the English River Miners in 2013-14 the St. Albert, Alta., native has spent three seasons for the Miners at forward.

Moreau is the franchise leader in games played, goals, assists, points and penalty minutes.

Team awards include: 2013-14 Goldcorp Most Dedicated Player, 2014-15 Lions Club Community Commitment, 2015-16 Goldcorp Most Dedicated Player and the 2015-16 Onaway Lodge Leading Scorer.

“Ryker has a tireless work ethic and has earned the opportunity to play at the university level through hard work and dedication to the sport he loves,” stated Miners head coach and general manager Derek Sweet-Coulter.

“I am extremely proud and excited to see him reach his goal. I truly believe that Ryker has set himself up for success through his overall professional preparation. Good Luck Ryker.”

Moreau will be majoring in statistics and actuarial science.
