The Thunder Bay North Stars came to the Cochenour Arena to finish off their 3 game road trip.  Conner Lemieux got the nod for the Stars in net while Kiev Keneshanko would get his second straight start for the Miners.

The Miners would start the pressure early early in the first period but Lemieux would keep the Miners off the scoreboard. Nic Bolin would get the home team on the board first  putting home his own rebound past Lemieux at 7:03 for his 7th of the season. Kenyon Nyman’s 3rd of the season made it 2-0 with a power play goal at 10:43. Thunder Bay would get within one a 14:25 with a goal from Sangha.  Conner Lemieux was the story of the first period as after 20 minutes the Miners outshoot the Stars 23-5 but thanks to Lemieux its only 2-1.

The Miners kept the pressure going in the second period and at 4:51 Brady Harroun would beat Lemieux on the power play for his 7th. With Sangha in the box serving a double minor the Miners would make the most out of the man advantage. Noah Kramps 5th at 13:51 followed by Ryan Hunter’s 4th at 15:25 had the Miners up 5-1.  Treston Moisey scared his first as a Miner at 16:15 then Ryan Howe would round out the period scoring  with a beauty at 18:36 notching his 4th of the season. The Miners peppered a helpless Lemieux with 22 shots in the period and after 40 minutes held a 7-1 lead.

Third period action was a slower in the scoring category.  The lone goal was scored by Ryan Hunter at 7:50 for his second of the night.  Kiev Keneshanko would see a few more shots in the third but kept the doors shut on the Stars.  Conner Lemieux would see a total of 55 shots over the course of 60 minutes and many were tough shots.

Final Score   Miners 8  North Stars 1
