Miners Sweep Weekend Series With Lumberjacks

For the second straight night the Wisconsin Lumberjacks were visitors at the Cochenour Arena taking on the Red Lake Miners.  Kiev Kineshanko would start for the Miners in net while Kyler Lowden was in the crease for the Lumberjacks.

Brady Harroun would open the scoring for the Miners with a power play tally at 2:05 his 16th of the year.  Power play goals from Baranesky(25) and Jake Parker(5) would put the Miners up 3-0 at 17:04.  Wisconsin would see the power play goals coming at 18:40 on Brock Weimer’s 19th of the season making it 3-1. Any momentum the Lumberjacks gained was taken away 17 seconds later when Ryan Hunter would score the first even strength goal of the game his 21st.  After 20 minutes the Miners hold a 4-1 lead and outshoot the Lumberjacks 20-11.

Ryan Howe’s 10th of the season would open the second period scoring  at 2:05. This went from bad to worse shortly after for the Lumberjacks. Baranesky(26-PP), Harroun(17), Pool(7), Kramps(10 and Pool(8) would all score to make the score 10-1 and end Lowden’s night 9:26.  Ryan Blackburn would take advantage of a defensive zone miscue and beat Kineshanko for his 3rd of the year. Jake Parker’s 6th and Noah Kramps 11th would finish off the second period scoring.  Miners lead 12-2 and hold a 43-20 shot lead.

Ryan Hunter would start the third period with a short handed tally at 4:30 his 22nd.  Zach Carson scored his 6th on the power play at 6:44.  Pool(9),Parker(7), Harroun(18) and Kramps(12) would all score for the Miners before Jack Eckholm’s 6th would finish off the game scoring at 14:02.  Final score Miners 17 Lumberjacks 4
