Miners Hire Lee Stone As Head Coach & GM

The Red Lake Miners are pleased to announce the hiring of Lee Stone as the new Head Coach and    General Manger.

Stone comes to the Miners organization after spending 10 seasons as the Head Coach and General    Manager of the Campbell River Storm in the VIJHL.  During his tenure in Campbell River the Storm  had a .766 winning percentage, claimed 6 North Division Championships,  2 VIJHL Regular Season           Championships and 3 VIJHL Playoff Championships.   Stone led the Storm to 5 Cyclone Taylor                 appearances which includes winning Gold, Silver and Bronze as well as a Gold medal win in the 2014/15 Keystone Cup. 54 players advanced to Junior A or Major Junior under Stone and 32 players     received Collegiate commitments.

Jason Vinet, President of the Red Lake Miners, commented “Lee Stone is very detail oriented, hard     working coach.  He has a proven winning record with the Campbell River Storm and is dedicated to the advancement of his players. Lee Stone will will be a very big asset to this organization. Our goal is not only to compete and do well on the ice and in the community but to win the SIJHL championship and we feel this hire will help us do that.”

The Red Lake Miners are entering their 11th season in the SIJHL.  A season ticket drive has commenced for the upcoming season and fans should look forward to an exciting 2023-24 season under the             leadership of Lee Stone.
